Luis Nava resigns from Querétaro cabinet to seek 2027 governorship

Luis Bernardo Nava Guerrero has resigned from his position as the Secretary of Social Development (Sedesoq) in Querétaro to launch a campaign for the state governorship in 2027 under the PAN party. Nava stated his departure is a matter of transparency and congruence, allowing him to focus entirely on his political project. Ernesto Alonso Mejía Botello will succeed him in the secretariat.

In Querétaro, municipal leaders also presented their second government reports. Felifer Macías, Mayor of Querétaro, highlighted achievements in free public transportation, security, and social programs like ‘El Extra’. Meanwhile, local officials in other regions, including Tulancingo and Hermosillo, reported on infrastructure, public works, and security improvements during their respective second annual reports.

In Querétaro, discussions regarding the potential creation of Santa Rosa Jáuregui as a new municipality are ongoing, with local regidores calling for deeper constitutional and budgetary analysis before proceeding.
