Ernesto Che Guevara: The global legacy of his internationalism
The historical and ideological legacy of Ernesto Che Guevara continues to resonate globally, characterized by his commitment to internationalism and the struggle against oppression. His life was defined by an effort to contribute to revolutionary changes in humanity and the pursuit of a new social order through scientific and humanist ideas.
Following his final combat in the Bolivian jungle, Guevara was killed on October 9, 1967, under the administration of Bolivian President René Barrientos. Although authorities at the time attempted to frame his death as a victory for military forces and sought to hide his remains in a secret burial near Vallegrande, his death became a historical paradox. Rather than diminishing his influence, his passing amplified his symbolic presence as a figure for progressive movements and social justice worldwide.
