Erol Özvar attends Imam Bukhari symposium in Denizli

Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), attended the symposium titled ‘The Scholarly Legacy of Imam Bukhari: Traditional and Modern Approaches’ held at Pamukkale University in Denizli.

During the event, Özvar emphasized the importance of Hadith science in distinguishing Islamic traditions and preserving the life and teachings of the Prophet. He noted that Imam Bukhari’s dedication to seeking truth through extensive travel and rigorous verification serves as a model for scholars.

Özvar also addressed the challenges of the digital age, stating that the value of information should not be measured by the speed of access, but by the scholarly effort invested in verifying its accuracy and depth. The symposium brought together scientists from various countries to discuss Bukhari’s academic legacy and foster new research in Islamic studies.
