Errol Gulden returns for Sydney Swans ahead of Brisbane clash

Midfielder Errol Gulden is back in the Sydney Swans line‑up after more than three months recovering from a dislocated shoulder that required reconstruction. Coach Dean Cox said the club had missed his leadership and work ethic and expects him to help the Swans secure a top‑two AFL position.

Gulden will start in Thursday night’s match at the Gabba against the Brisbane Lions, who will also field defender Ryan Lester after his calf injury. Sydney sit two and a half games clear in second place with a 12‑2 record, while Brisbane contend for a three‑peat.

Other Swans players on the return path include defender Tom McCartin, who cleared concussion protocols, and forward Tom Papley, due back in two weeks. The Lions will be without Dayne Zorko and Hugh McCluggage for at least another week.
