Errol Spence Jr. to face Tim Tszyu at 160‑pound limit in Sydney
Former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. will return to the ring on July 25, 2026, to fight Australian boxer Tim Tszyu at Sydney Olympic Park. After negotiations, the bout will be contested at the full middleweight limit of 160 pounds, the second weight concession granted to Spence’s camp. Spence, who has not fought in three years following a car crash and a detached retina injury, cited his inability to make lower weights as the reason for the move.
Spence arrived in Australia on a 15‑hour flight from Los Angeles and was greeted with an Indigenous Welcome to Country ceremony. He expressed confidence about fighting on Tszyu’s home turf, calling himself the “big fish” and saying the event will be a “dope” showcase for Australian fans.
