ERS-640 highway recovery progresses in Rio Grande do Sul

Recovery works on the ERS-640 state highway in Rio Grande do Sul have restored approximately 40 kilometers of the road segment connecting São Vicente do Sul and Rosário do Sul through Cacequi. The project covers a total of more than 64 kilometers, stretching from the junction with ERS-241 to the intersection with BR-290.

The project is funded by an investment of nearly R$ 107 million from the Funrigs (Fundo do Plano Rio Grande) and is being executed by the Daer (Departamento Autônomo de Estradas de Rodagem) under the State Secretariat of Logistics and Transport (Selt).

Five teams are working simultaneously on the project, which has already completed about 90% of the drainage services. The technical scope includes removing deteriorated asphalt, reinforcing the compacted crushed stone layers, applying new asphalt layers, and repairing culverts and water management structures. The final stages will involve road signaling, signage installation, and cleaning.
