ERSE reports increase in efficient fuel prices in Portugal

The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) has announced an increase in the efficient price of fuels for the week of August 24 to 30. The efficient price for simple 95 gasoline has risen to 2.021 euros per liter, while simple diesel has reached 2.115 euros per liter.

This represents a weekly increase of 1.9% for gasoline and 1.1% for diesel. ERSE attributes this trend primarily to fluctuations in international refined fuel quotations, which rose by 4.7% for gasoline and 2.0% for diesel during the period. The regulator noted that these efficient prices are calculated benchmarks based on costs such as international quotations, freight, logistics, reserves, biofuels, retail, and taxes, rather than regulated maximum or recommended prices.

ERSE emphasized that retail prices remain freely defined by individual operators.
