Erste Bank Polska Survey Shows Gender, Age Gaps in Polish Success Views

A survey commissioned by Erste Bank Polska and conducted by research agency YOTTA interviewed 1,096 Polish adults (18+) on 16‑19 March 2026. The study found that 54 % of respondents consider themselves successful, with women more likely than men to define success through health, well‑being and personal happiness, while men associate it more with financial wealth. Women also emphasized non‑material support such as mental well‑being (89 %), perseverance (88 %) and family backing (87 %).

Age differences were pronounced: younger generations (Z‑generation and Millennials) linked success to money, status and career advancement, whereas older cohorts (Generation X and baby boomers) prioritized health, psychological resilience and close relationships. Financial product preferences reflected these gaps – older respondents favored deposits, while younger participants leaned toward investment funds and retirement accounts such as IKE/IKZE.
