Erste Bank schedules extensive digital service outage in Hungary

Erste Bank announced a planned system maintenance that will temporarily suspend several digital banking services. The first outage will run from 22:00 UTC on 24 July 2026 until 10:00 UTC on 25 July 2026, affecting the George app and web, online shopping, and the initiation of instant transfers. Reception of instant transfers will also be unavailable between 00:00 and 04:00 on 25 July. A second maintenance window is set for 22:00 UTC on 6 August 2026 to 03:00 UTC on 7 August 2026, with similar service interruptions.

During these periods, other channels such as ATMs, cash deposits, MobilePay, mobile‑phone balance top‑ups, and the bank’s public website will remain operational. Customers are advised to complete critical transactions before the outages.

The bank says the upgrades are intended to improve speed and security of its digital platforms and are essential for future service reliability.
