Turkish Super Lig to adopt chip‑ball and goal‑line technology

The Kulüpler Birliği Vakfı, chaired by Ertuğrul Doğan, announced that Turkish Super Lig clubs have reached a joint decision to introduce the chip‑embedded ball and goal‑line technologies that were used at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The clubs have negotiated with technology providers, agreed to share the costs, and plan to integrate the systems with the existing VAR infrastructure to eliminate off‑side and goal‑line disputes.

In the same meeting the clubs expressed collective dissatisfaction with the current foreign‑player quota (12+5) and said they will draft a joint proposal to the Turkish Football Federation for revision. The discussion also touched on a sharp drop in broadcast revenues, changes to tax allocations for amateur branches, and a heated exchange between Samsunspor president Yüksel Yıldırım and Fenerbahçe officials, which was later downplayed by the participants.

Doğan emphasized that the technological upgrade aims to improve match fairness, while the clubs intend to continue dialogue with the federation on regulatory and financial issues affecting Turkish football.
