Eruzioni del Gusto celebrates agricultural tradition in Portici

The Eruzioni del Gusto cultural and enogastronomic festival, promoted by the ORONERO association, was held at the Royal Palace of Portici. The event, supported by the Campania Region, featured the ‘Farmer Award’ to recognize individuals dedicated to preserving local biodiversity and traditional agricultural practices.

Award recipients included specialists in Matese rye, San Marzano tomatoes, Vesuvian apricot varieties, and ancient cereal biodiversity. The ceremony highlighted the evolution of women in the food sector and the importance of protecting regional territories.

In addition to honoring farmers, the event addressed the strategic necessity of wine tourism (enotourism) for the survival of the agricultural sector. Angelo Radica, President of the National Association of Wine Cities, emphasized that wine tourism has become a vital economic lever for viticultural companies.
