Erykah Badu and The Alchemist announce collaborative album release

Erykah Badu and producer The Alchemist have announced that their collaborative studio album is scheduled for release on August 28. The project, which marks Badu’s first full-length studio release in over a decade, was recorded over an 18-month period in Dallas and Los Angeles.

To promote the release, the duo has debuted a new single titled “Witch Doctor,” a six-minute track blending soul, jazz, and underground hip-hop elements. The album currently lacks an official title and is listed on digital platforms with the placeholder “Sorry, we don’t have an album title yet …”

Following the release, the artists are set to embark on a North American tour in the fall, joined by De La Soul. The album is expected to be released via Control Freaq and Young Recordings.
