Erykah Badu and The Alchemist release collaborative album

Erykah Badu and producer The Alchemist have released their collaborative album, ‘Before The World Blows: The Abi and Alan Experiment’. Following its digital release, physical editions including CD, cassette, and double LP are scheduled for official release on December 11.

Recorded over 18 months in Dallas and Los Angeles, the project is co-produced by both artists. The album is structured in four movements, exploring themes of love, art, and identity through a blend of soul, blues, funk, rock, jazz, and underground hip-hop. The collaboration follows a creative process that began over three years ago, resulting in a sound that integrates The Alchemist’s samples with Badu’s melodic reconstructions.

Special editions of the physical release will include various formats, such as limited white-label versions via Bandcamp and specific vinyl colors like neon orange and transparent yellow through select retailers.
