During a meeting regarding food production, Governor Hamza Aydoğdu emphasized the need to raise the standards of Erzincan tulum cheese. He noted that production must align with geographical indication requirements and European registration criteria to enhance economic value for producers. The meeting also addressed the establishment of a cheese producers' cooperative and the repair of pasture roads damaged by seasonal weather. Aydoğdu reported that the city's small ruminant population has reached 840,000.
