Erzurum Health Department Launches ‘Can Ebeleri’ Home Visit Program for Mothers

The Erzurum Provincial Health Directorate has rolled out the “Can Ebeleri” project, sending midwives to the homes of pregnant women and new mothers across the city and its rural neighbourhoods. During visits the midwives conduct health screenings such as blood‑pressure checks, provide breastfeeding instruction, teach newborn care (including umbilical‑cord care and vaccination schedules) and offer psychological support. The initiative targets areas where access to medical services is limited, aiming to detect early health risks and improve overall care quality. Citizens have praised the door‑to‑door service, thanking the health directorate and the midwives for the personalized assistance.
