Erzurum health officials call for organ donation during awareness week

Health officials in Erzurum, including representatives from Erzurum City Hospital and the Ministry of Health Organ and Tissue Transplantation Regional Coordination Center, are promoting organ donation awareness during Organ Donation Week, observed annually from November 3 to 9.

Dr. Mesud Fakirullahoğlu, Chief Physician of Erzurum City Hospital, emphasized that organ donation provides new life to individuals and hope to families. He noted that the Presidency of Religious Affairs has stated that organ donation and transplantation are religiously permissible under specific conditions.

Dr. Abdullah Can, head of the Regional Coordination Center, highlighted the sensitivity of the transplantation process, describing the center's role as a bridge in the supply, evaluation, and transplant stages. Officials noted that citizens can easily declare their intent to donate through the e-Nabız mobile application.
