Erzurum hosts swearing-in ceremony for 1,500 expert witnesses

Approximately 1,500 expert witnesses took their oaths during a ceremony organized by the Erzurum Expert Witness Regional Board at Atatürk University. The event included a panel titled ‘Goals, Achievements, and Future Vision in the 10th Year of the Expert Witness Law.’

Erdinç Avşar, General Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, reported that in 2025, expert reports were obtained for 1.6 million files, with payments totaling 7.7 billion TL. Avşar expressed expectations that these figures would increase in 2026 and urged the new experts to conclude cases fairly and efficiently to avoid unnecessary costs.

The ceremony featured opening remarks from various officials, including Atatürk University Rector Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu and Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor Adem Aydemir, who emphasized the critical role of expert witnesses within the judicial system.
