Erzurum hosts traditional Rahvan horse races

Traditional Rahvan horse races were held in the Erzurum Plain, bringing together approximately 120 horses and participants from 20 different provinces across Turkey. The event featured competitions across seven distinct categories, including horses that have previously held Turkish championships.

Organized by the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, the event hosted around 500 attendees, including horse owners, jockeys, and spectators. Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen emphasized that the organization serves as a cultural festival intended to preserve historical values and pass the tradition of Rahvan horse breeding to future generations.
