Erzurum pigeon breeder owns birds valued at 700,000 TL

Muğdat Gültekin, a long-distance bus driver and president of the Erzurum Şebap Pigeon Union, maintains a lifelong passion for breeding pigeons. His collection includes six Şebap breed pigeons in a dirty white color, which are valued between 600,000 and 700,000 Turkish Lira based on their flight characteristics.

Gültekin, who resides in the Aşkale district of Erzurum, relies on his wife to care for the birds while he is away on long-distance trips. He noted that his wife has become highly skilled in their care, even raising young pigeons on radiators during the winter months when parent birds do not provide sufficient care.
