Erzurum ski jumping facility undergoes major renovation

Turkey’s only ski jumping facility in Erzurum’s Kiremitlik Tepe is undergoing extensive renovations to enhance its capacity for international competitions. A key technical upgrade involves replacing concrete surfaces with a wooden cladding system over steel construction to prevent expansion and deformation caused by temperature fluctuations.

While repairs to the K20 and K40 ramps are complete, work continues on the largest 125-meter ramp, which is expected to be ready for athletes by November. The facility is being equipped with ice systems for winter and irrigation systems for summer on the inrun ramps, aiming to allow year-round training regardless of snowfall.

In addition to the ramps, the surrounding infrastructure—including the hotel, Olympic Preparation Center, and Athlete Training Center—has been renovated. The project aims to reduce the need for Turkish Olympic athletes to train abroad and seeks to establish Erzurum as a hub for international training camps and summer competitions.
