Erzurum's Çifte Minareli Medrese hosts traditional art exhibition

The historic Çifte Minareli Medrese in Erzurum is hosting the ‘Respect to the Ancient Traces of Erzurum’ exhibition, featuring 56 works by 31 different artists. The collection focuses on traditional art forms, including calligraphy, illumination, miniature painting, and calligraphy, drawing inspiration from the symbols and motifs found in Erzurum’s historical and cultural structures.

During the opening, Governor Aydın Baruş highlighted the importance of showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Turkish-Islamic civilization. He noted that the exhibition serves to connect younger generations with the city's historical wealth. Exhibition coordinator Dilek Şar mentioned that the artworks incorporate design elements from the Çifte Minareli Medrese's minarets and the geometric patterns of the Yakutiye Medresesi. The exhibition will remain open to visitors until September 25.
