Erzurum’s Oltu District Holds Hafızlık İcazet Ceremony for 54 Graduates
A ceremony was held at the Oltu Efkan Ala Cultural Center in Oltu, Erzurum, to award Hafızlık İcazet certificates to 54 students who completed memorization of the Qur'an – 30 male hafız and 24 female hafize. The event was organized by the local mufti office and opened with a respect salute, the national anthem and a Qur'an recitation.
Regional officials attended, including Erzurum Governor Aydın Baruş, Oltu District Governor Mustafa Çelik, Erzurum Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Oltu Mayor Adem Çelebi and other dignitaries. After protocol speeches, the graduates received their certificates from the officials. Mayor Sekmen also presented cash prizes to the graduates. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph.
The ceremony took place on 6 August 2026 and was attended by many citizens who showed strong interest in the celebration of the graduates’ achievement.
