Es Jardí festival denies allegations of under-serving beer

The Es Jardí festival organization has issued a statement denying allegations that it served less than the advertised 400 ml of beer during its concerts in Mallorca. This response follows a complaint filed by the consumer association Consubal with the regional consumer protection authorities regarding a perceived discrepancy between the advertised volume and the capacity of the reusable cups used.

The festival organizers stated they have “categorically and emphatically” rejected the claim of supplying less product than advertised. They asserted that the reusable cups were specifically selected to accommodate the 400 ml volume and that internal verifications have confirmed their adequacy.

According to the festival, a distinction must be made between the total capacity of the vessel and the necessary headspace between the liquid level and the rim. This margin is intended to facilitate service and transport, prevent spills, and accommodate foam produced by pressurized beer. The organization claims to possess supporting documentation, including supplier invoices and video evidence of measurements, and has expressed its willingness to cooperate with competent authorities.
