Brazil sports update: Golf, tennis, and basketball competitions

Various sporting events are taking place across Brazil. In Arujá, the 50th Arujá Open Golf Club tournament is celebrating its anniversary with a record 200 players competing for points in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

In tennis, the Santos Brasil Tennis Classic in São Luís has seen strong performances from Brazilian players, including Jennifer Dourado. Meanwhile, the SP Open in São Paulo faced delays due to rain, forcing the postponement of several matches, including debuts by Laura Pigossi and Carolina Meligeni.

Basketball fans are preparing for the Paulista basketball semifinals, where Mogi Basquete will face Corinthians in a best-of-five series starting September 21. In football, the Copa Alagoas Sub-20 is set to begin on September 23, and youth competitions in Espírito Santo (Copas ES Sub-15 and Sub-17) have seen several clubs secure double victories in their opening rounds.
