ESC Kempten secures 6-5 last-minute victory over EV Dingolfing
ESC Kempten achieved a dramatic 6-5 victory against EV Dingolfing in a Bayernliga ice hockey match held at the Kempten Ice Stadium. Despite an early dominant start, Kempten struggled with a 30-minute period of inactivity, allowing Dingolfing to take a 3-2 lead.
Kempten regained momentum in the final period through a double strike from Eetu Elo, who scored three goals in total, and Filip Kokoska. Max Miller later extended the lead to two goals with six minutes remaining. However, Dingolfing responded quickly, scoring twice to equalize just fifty seconds before the end of regulation.
Six seconds after the ensuing face-off, Niklas Salo scored the winning goal following a combination play between Kokoska and Elo, securing the win for the Sharks in front of 764 spectators. Following the match, Sharks coach Sven Curmann criticized the team's passive phases but praised their morale in securing the late win.
