ESCATEC launches in-house BPA-free plastic manufacturing
Electronics manufacturing services provider ESCATEC has launched an in-house capability to produce plastic components using BPA-free resins. The new production process has been implemented at its ESCATEC Mechatronics Sdn. Bhd. facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The capability is designed to serve industries requiring strict material controls and traceability, specifically food and beverage and medical technology. The process has already been validated through the mass production of a BPA-free coffee machine for an Italian brand. To ensure safety and compliance, the company has established controlled injection-moulding processes, including the use of dedicated machinery and strict segregation from conventional production lines.
CEO Charles-Alexandre Albin stated that the ability to manufacture BPA-free components under controlled conditions is increasingly relevant for customers in sensitive sectors where material selection and robust process controls are critical.
