Escobar Municipality receives BBB+ investment grade rating from Moody’s

The Municipality of Escobar has received an upgraded financial rating of BBB+ from the consultancy Moody’s, according to a report covering the first half of 2026. This upgrade grants the district ‘Investment Grade’ status, allowing it to seek financing in capital markets to fund public policies and services.

The report highlights the municipality's fiscal resilience and a sustained increase in the proportion of its own revenue despite a challenging economic context. This rating is three categories higher than that of the Buenos Aires Province (BB+. ar).

Mayor Ariel Sujarchuk attributed the achievement to the efficiency and transparency of technical teams, noting that the municipality maintains low debt levels and financial autonomy. He emphasized that Escobar is among the few districts in the country to continue undergoing such risk assessments to ensure predictability and responsibility in resource management.
