Escobar: Supreme Court requests three new family courts
The Supreme Court of Justice of the Province of Buenos Aires has formally requested the creation of three new family courts in the Escobar district. Through Resolution SC 2.917/26, the court petitioned the provincial Executive and Legislative branches to expand judicial capacity in response to significant demographic growth and high caseloads.
Currently, the district relies solely on Family Court No. 1, which began operations in June 2023. According to a December 2025 report by the Asociación Judicial Bonaerense (AJB), this single court handled 7,383 files, making it the busiest family court in the entire province of Buenos Aires and nearly triple the provincial average of 2,634 cases.
The initiative follows legislative efforts by Provincial Deputy Leonardo Moreno and Mayor Ariel Sujarchuk to increase judicial presence in the region. The expansion aims to improve the resolution of sensitive matters, including divorces, child support, adoption, and domestic violence protection measures.
