Escobedo launches community service program in San Marcos
The Escobedo municipal government launched the first edition of the ‘Jornada Integral en Tu Colonia’ program in the San Marcos Tercer Sector neighborhood. Led by José Antonio Quiroga Chapa, acting head of the Municipal Presidency, and City Council Secretary Felipe Canales Rodríguez, the initiative aims to bring municipal services directly to local families and address community needs.
Municipal crews performed various tasks, including street sweeping, cleaning, debris removal, fumigation, and cable reorganization. Significant maintenance was also conducted at the local public plaza. In addition to physical improvements, the event provided various services such as medical consultations, pet vaccinations, nutritional support, women’s services, yoga, and employment assistance. The program also facilitated property tax payments and discounts.
Quiroga Chapa noted that with federal government support, plans are underway to construct a high school in the sector, with classes temporarily held at a local primary school.
