Escola Abolicionista convenes 50+ groups at Brazil's ENFF

The second edition of the Escola Abolicionista took place at the Escola Nacional Florestan Fernandes (ENFF) in Brazil from 27 to 31 July 2026. Organized by the Coletivo Terra, Raça e Classe of the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST), the event gathered more than fifty abolitionist organisations representing sixteen nationalities.

Participants focused on confronting structural racism through the lens of popular land reform, discussing topics such as land and territory, policing, prisons, militarism, borders and anti‑punitive pedagogies. The gathering highlighted the importance of international solidarity and strategic unity among social movements to advance anti‑racist and agrarian justice struggles.
