Escola Funsat sees rise in elderly student enrollment

Participation of elderly students in free courses offered by Escola Funsat has increased in 2026, now accounting for 20% of all enrolled students. This is an increase from 15% during the same period last year, according to data from the Professional Education sector of the Fundação Social do Trabalho (Funsat).

While the 25 to 35 age group remains the largest demographic of enrollees, many students are encouraging relatives and acquaintances over the age of 60 to seek professional qualification. Courses mentioned include Elderly Caregiver and Handyman (Electrical and Hydraulic Repairs), as students seek to increase their income and enter new professional markets.
