Escola Portuguesa de Díli closes due to air quality concerns

The Escola Portuguesa de Díli has announced the closure of its facilities on October 15 and 16, 2026. This decision follows a directive from Timor-Leste authorities regarding the suspension of in-person educational activities due to deteriorating air quality.

The closure is a preventive measure intended to protect the health and safety of students, parents, teachers, and staff from exposure to pollutant particles. During this period, there will be no classes, extracurricular activities, or in-person services. The school expects to resume operations on Monday, October 19, pending further guidance from authorities or changes in environmental conditions.
