Escrick Park Estate unveils 3,500-home Heronby development plan
Escrick Park Estate has unveiled new plans for Heronby, a proposed community development of approximately 3,500 homes located between York and Selby in North Yorkshire. The project aims to address the region's chronic shortage of planned new housing.
The masterplan includes various community facilities, such as schools, a health centre, and a country park. The initiative follows a previous version of the plan that was part of the Selby Local Plan process in 2021, which was halted following local government reorganization in 2023.
Developers have submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment scoping request to the North Yorkshire Council as part of the pre-planning process. Escrick Park Estate representatives stated they are working toward submitting an outline planning application and are seeking community input, specifically targeting younger residents to discuss the future of the development.
