Escuela de Monstruos premieres in Peruvian cinemas on October 15

The animated film ‘Escuela de Monstruos’ (Monster Mia) is set to premiere in Peruvian cinemas on October 15, marking the start of the Halloween season. Based on the children's book series ‘Monstrous Maud’ by A. B. Saddlewick, the film was selected for the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The story follows Mia, a rebellious 12-year-old girl obsessed with proving the existence of monsters. After being expelled from her school, she is sent to the mysterious Deadwood School, where she discovers her classmates are indeed monsters. To avoid being discovered as a human, Mia must convince her peers that she belongs among them. The film explores themes of friendship, identity, and the acceptance of differences through 3D animation.
