Escuela Normal de Sinaloa evacuated following WhatsApp threats
Approximately 800 students were evacuated from the Escuela Normal de Sinaloa in Culiacán following death threats sent via WhatsApp to two female students during class. The emergency call was placed to 911 around 11:30 AM, prompting school officials to activate safety protocols and order an immediate evacuation of the campus located on Manuel J. Clouthier Avenue.
Security forces from three levels of government inspected classrooms, hallways, and common areas. While no armed individuals or suspicious objects were found, the Mexican Army remained at the school entrances as a preventive measure. Classes were suspended for the remainder of the day. Although preliminary reports suggest the messages might have been a hoax, authorities have not yet officially identified the origin of the threats.
