Escuela Preparatoria Regional de Ciudad Guzmán celebrates 50 years

The Escuela Preparatoria Regional de Ciudad Guzmán celebrated its 50th anniversary with a ceremony involving multiple generations of the university community. Although the institution was officially appointed on September 24, 1976, the festivities honored a half-century of history that includes over 20,000 graduates, 16 administrative terms, and 86 retired workers.

During the event, Karla Planter Pérez, the general rector of the Universidad de Guadalajara, emphasized that the school's legacy is defined by the experiences and collective work of those who have occupied its classrooms since the 1970s. The ceremony also honored foundational figures such as the first director, Juan José Elizondo Díaz, and the first secretary, Roberto Espinoza Guzmán.

The current director, Jorge Luis del Toro Álvarez, recognized the contributions of those who consolidated the institution. The celebration concluded with the municipal government presenting a distinction to the rector and the school director in recognition of five decades of teaching service in the municipality.
