National Stock Exchange receives SEBI approval for ₹30,000 crore IPO

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has received regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its initial public offering (IPO). The offering, estimated at approximately ₹30,000 crore, is structured as an offer for sale (OFS) involving the sale of 14.89 crore shares, representing about 6% of the exchange's paid-up capital. Major sellers include the SBI Group, which plans to offload approximately 2.48 crore shares. The NSE aims to list its shares during the week of September 21.

In other market news, ESDS Software Solution saw a significant stock market debut, with shares hitting a 20% upper circuit on the NSE shortly after listing. The company's shares rose over 111% from their IPO price of ₹429. The ₹720 crore IPO was oversubscribed 135.88 times. Additionally, Priority Jewels successfully listed on the NSE at a 15% premium over its issue price.

Separately, SEBI and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation and information exchange regarding central counterparties (CCPs).
