Esenler shooting revealed as mutual shootout between two men
An investigation by the Istanbul Police Department has revealed that a recent shooting in the Esenler district was a mutual confrontation between two individuals rather than a targeted attack.
The incident occurred on October 9 in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood on Atışalanı Avenue. Security footage confirmed that M. B. and A. Ç. engaged in a shootout, resulting in injuries to both men and damage to a local business window. Police recovered four empty shell casings from the scene.
The conflict reportedly began after A. Ç. allegedly threatened N. G., a friend of M. B., leading to a verbal dispute that escalated into gunfire. Both individuals were hospitalized; M. B. has since been taken into custody and placed under judicial control, while legal proceedings for attempted murder are being processed for both suspects.
