Esenyurt driver targeted in armed attack after traffic dispute

In the Esenyurt district of Istanbul, a traffic dispute escalated into an armed attack. Yusuf Enis Güler was driving his vehicle to drop off his two sisters, aged 10 and 14, at school when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the conflict began when Güler stopped his car to allow two children to cross the street. A 51-year-old driver, identified as H. Ö., reportedly began honking and shouting insults at Güler. After a verbal exchange, the suspect allegedly brandished a weapon and threatened Güler.

As Güler attempted to flee the scene, the suspect pursued the vehicle and opened fire. The shots struck the car's rear window and trunk, despite the presence of the two children inside. Güler recorded the terrifying moments on his mobile phone. Following the incident, police detained H. Ö. A search of his residence uncovered an air pistol, numerous air pistol cartridges, and two knives. The suspect faces charges including armed threats, attempted intentional injury, and property damage.
