Esenyurt Municipality opens new library and retiree center

Esenyurt Municipality has inaugurated two new social facilities in the Akçaburgaz neighborhood: the İskender Pala Library and the Derviş Retiree House. The opening ceremony was attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Seda Gören, Esenyurt District Governor Fatih Çobanoğlu, and author İskender Pala.

The İskender Pala Library occupies a 330-square-meter space that was previously a private business. It features a capacity for 160 people, a collection of approximately 3,000 books, a digital reservation system, and controlled entry turnstiles. The facility offers free internet, indoor and outdoor break areas, and complimentary tea and soup.

The Derviş Retiree House, located within Yunus Emre Park, covers approximately 140 square meters and can accommodate 90 people simultaneously. Designed to support the social and cultural lives of seniors, the center will offer services at affordable prices to serve as a community meeting point.
