Esenyurt parking lot fire leads to mass evacuations and hospitalizations

A fire broke out in the indoor parking lot of a residential complex in the Yeşilkent neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul. The blaze, which reportedly started in a parked vehicle, spread to two cars, causing them to be completely destroyed and filling the entire building with dense smoke.

Firefighters evacuated dozens of residents from the building. Reports indicate that between 37 and 42 people were trapped by the smoke, with 27 individuals being transported to nearby hospitals for treatment due to smoke inhalation. Footage captured a father and son waiting at a window several meters high to be rescued from the smoke.

Emergency services, including police and fire crews, responded to the scene. While the fire was brought under control by the fire department, police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
