Esenyurt shopkeeper saves choking child using Heimlich maneuver

A 13-year-old child was saved after choking on corn in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, in the Osmangazi neighborhood.

Local shopkeeper Bayram Cihangir intervened when the child ran toward him, gesturing to his throat. Cihangir applied the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodging the corn and allowing the child to breathe again. The child was reported to be in good health following the incident.

Cihangir, who learned first aid during his military service, emphasized the importance of knowing such life-saving techniques, noting that such emergencies can happen to anyone.
