Esequiel Barco renews contract with Spartak Moscow until 2030

Argentine midfielder Esequiel Barco has officially renewed his contract with Spartak Moscow, committing to the Russian club until 2030. The extension follows a period of speculation regarding a potential return to Argentina.

Despite interest from Argentine clubs River Plate and Independiente, Barco has chosen to remain in Russia. Economic conditions requested by Spartak Moscow had previously acted as a barrier to negotiations with the Argentine sides.

Since joining Spartak in 2024, the 27-year-old has become a key figure for the team, recording 23 goals and 19 assists in 79 matches. He was also part of the squad that won the Russian Cup. Barco expressed his happiness on social media, stating, “I am very happy to announce the extension of my contract with Spartak Moscow. It is a pride to continue being part of this enormous club!”
