ESIAP hosts NASA expert to promote STEM and leadership in El Salvador

The Escuela Superior de Innovación en la Administración Pública (ESIAP) hosted a seminar focused on scientific, technological, and leadership development in El Salvador. The event featured Sandra Cauffman, a Salvadoran scientist and former deputy director of NASA’s Astrophysics Division, who shared expertise on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and strategic leadership.

Vice President Félix Ulloa, who presides over ESIAP, participated in the international seminar titled ‘Inspiring Leadership, The Power of Character.’ Ulloa emphasized the need for professionalized public servants to meet the challenges of modern state administration, noting that public services must strive to exceed private sector standards. He also highlighted digital transformation efforts through cooperation with Google to streamline citizen services and investment.

The initiative, coordinated with the U.S. Embassy, aims to strengthen Salvadoran talent and link the academic sector with government institutions. Discussions focused on the importance of innovative curricula to prepare future generations and the role of scientific leaders in driving national competitiveness.
