České dráhy to maintain four weekly Prague-Opava direct trains

České dráhy (ČD) has announced that it will maintain four weekly direct train connections between Prague and Opava until the end of the current timetable on December 12, 2026. The decision follows high passenger demand and occupancy levels, particularly among students and business travelers.

The service includes two additional connections that were originally intended only for the summer season but were extended into the school year. These include a Thursday service from Prague to Opava and a Friday morning service from Opava to Prague, alongside existing Friday and Sunday connections.

While these routes are reserved in the 2027 timetable proposal being prepared by Správa železnic, a final decision regarding the extent of these services after the December 2026 timetable change will be made this autumn. RegioJet also continues to provide direct connections on this route.
