Český Krumlov implements river tube to maintain navigation during bridge reconstruction

In Český Krumlov, a new construction solution has been implemented to maintain river navigation during the reconstruction of a bridge between Tavírna and Plešivec. To avoid forcing boaters to carry vessels by land, the South Bohemian Region and its supplier installed a special tube costing approximately 4.2 million CZK. This allows water sports enthusiasts to continue traveling through the busy section of the Vltava River directly under the construction site.

The bridge reconstruction is a major investment for the region, with a total budget of approximately 119 million CZK. The existing structure, dating back to 1963, no longer meets modern technical requirements. The project is expected to last about 240 days, and a temporary two-way bridge has already been established to manage vehicular traffic.
