Komerční banka profit decline 80% dividend Czech banking sector Erste Group

Komerční banka reported a net profit of 8.5 billion Czech crowns for the first half of the year, a 3.3 % decline from a year earlier. Operating profit rose 5.8 % to 10 billion crowns and total loan volume increased 10 % to 945.8 billion crowns. New housing loans surged 92.7 % to 61.6 billion crowns, driven by strong demand in the residential market. Client deposits reached 1.14 trillion crowns, up 10.2 % year‑on‑year, with individual deposits up 12.9 % and corporate deposits up 9.8 %. The bank plans to distribute a dividend equal to 80 % of its consolidated net profit.

In the same reporting period, Česká spořitelna posted the highest profit among Czech banks, with net earnings of 14.3 billion crowns, up 11.7 % year‑on‑year. Its parent, Austria’s Erste Group, saw net profit rise 18.6 % to €1.975 billion, helped by higher interest income, fee growth and the integration of Poland’s Santander Bank Polska under the Erste Bank Polska brand. Other Czech banks, including Moneta Money Bank and UniCredit Bank, also reported profit growth.
