Česká Třebová hosts Czech national chess championships

The chess club in Česká Třebová hosted two major national championships on September 12 and 13, 2026, acting under the mandate of the Czech Chess Federation. The events included the Czech Rapid Chess Youth Championship and the Czech Junior Championship.

A total of 316 players from nearly 100 clubs across the country participated in twelve different categories. The tournament utilized a Swiss system consisting of nine rounds with a time control of 2x20 minutes plus 5 seconds per move. The event required significant logistical coordination, involving over 500 attendees and accommodation in both Česká Třebová and Ústí nad Orlicí.
