Česká televize drama ‘Gerta Schnirch’ leads Sunday viewership

Česká televize achieved significant viewership success with the first part of its two-part drama, ‘Gerta Schnirch’. According to MediaGuru, the program attracted 660,000 viewers aged 15 and older, outperforming competitors Nova, which drew 529,000 viewers with the series ‘Studna’, and Prima, which saw 100,000 fewer viewers than the leader with its reality show ‘Zrádci’.

Based on the novel by Kateřina Tučková, the drama follows a young woman growing up in a mixed Czech-German family in Brno during World War II. The narrative explores deep family conflicts driven by Nazi ideology and the subsequent personal tragedies caused by the post-war expulsion of Germans.
