Eskişehir business owners demand traffic restrictions to curb noise

Local business owners in the Eskibağlar neighborhood of Eskişehir, specifically on Genez Street—widely known as the 'Cafes Street'—are calling for the street to be closed to vehicles or converted to one-way traffic. The merchants report that uncontrolled vehicle traffic, loud music, and excessive exhaust noise are causing significant distress to both shopkeepers and pedestrians.

Despite following municipal and police directives to move business operations back from the sidewalks, owners state that the core issue remains unregulated traffic. They note that while inspections provide temporary relief, the area frequently becomes crowded with vehicles featuring loud exhausts and high-volume music. Business owners argue that the traffic congestion is driving people away from this major social and touristic hub.
